MapleSteps Support
MapleSteps turns a Canadian letter or notice into the next thing you have to do, with the official page and the date that guidance was checked attached. It has no accounts and no chat — email is the way to reach us, and we answer from the same country you do.
Before you write in
- A reminder did not fire. Check iPhone Settings → Notifications → MapleSteps, and that the task still shows a saved time. Re-opening the app re-checks every saved reminder.
- Interpretation looks thin. Reading a notice with a model needs iOS 26 or later, a compatible device and available Apple Intelligence. Without it the app falls back to on-device rules, which only quote what the letter actually says and ask about everything it leaves out — that fallback is intended, not a failure.
- The cloud switch does nothing. It is off by default and stays unavailable until you add your own API key in You → Cloud model (optional).
- No collection day came back. That service only covers addresses inside the City of Toronto. Markham, Mississauga and every other municipality publish their own rules, and the app will not borrow Toronto's answer for them.
- The lock screen widget is empty or stale. The widget only reads a snapshot the app writes when you are in it. Open MapleSteps once and it hands the widget a fresh copy.
What we cannot help with
MapleSteps does not decide whether you qualify for a benefit, does not fill in or submit government forms, and never sends a message on your behalf — a draft it writes is shown as a draft until you send it yourself. It also does not fetch live policy text; guidance ships inside the app, so if a rule has changed since, the linked official page is the authority.
Tell us what broke
Email cczuysh+maplesteps@gmail.com with your app version (bottom of the You tab), your province and language, and what you expected. Screenshots of the app's own screens are useful; we do not need your documents.
If you are happy to share how you used the app, there is an export on the You tab. Nothing from it is sent unless you attach it to your email yourself. See the privacy policy for what is and is not recorded.
Language
The app ships in English and Simplified Chinese. Write in either.
